This year’s agenda includes master classes, guitar exhibits, competitions and concerts by acclaimed world-class musicians hailing from Asia, the Americas and Europe. This year will see rising stars and celebrated veterans of the guitar world perform. Highlights include Jorge Luis Zamora, Paul Steidl, Koki Fujimoto and Paul Cesarczyk. Over the years, the hotel has hosted an enviable array of top international talent. Recent offerings have included blind pianist Ignasi Terraza, mainstay of the Barcelona jazz scene and winner of the prestigious 25th Great American Jazz Piano Competition and The Whiffenpoofs from Yale University (also returning June 24-25), one of the world’s oldest and most famous American a cappella groups.
The hotel has hosted so many prestigious art exhibitions over the decades that it is impossible to list them all here. Of late, one of the most successful was entitled ‘Siam Days of Glory: 19th Century Photographs of Thailand’. It featured a collection of privately owned rare and original images of Siam in the 19th century.
